I’m Cristina.
I’m passionate about cultivating community through art and learning. As both an artist and an educator, I’ve developed a deep love for museums. Within museums, a unique and valuable kind of learning takes place—one that feels different from a traditional classroom setting. Personal experience and memory become the foundation of learning, rather than knowledge itself. This takes place through exhibitions, special events, lectures, and performances. Transitioning from a traditional teaching background into a museum profession has shown me that these spaces hold much more than just objects; they hold stories and memories. This shift in perspective is exactly why I am committed to growing my career within the museum field.
My personal body of work often takes shape in sculptural forms made from handmade paper, thread, and found objects — materials that carry stories and textures of their own. I earned my MFA in Visual Art from Vermont College of Fine Arts, where I deepened my love for process, experimentation, and community.
When I’m not in the museum or studio, you’ll probably find me chasing great burger spots, enjoying DIY house projects, or getting lost with a jigsaw puzzle.
